Update as of May 2003

Praise God! Stephen James Paul joined us in March and he is wonderful! He is big and healthy and loves to nurse. He will be two months old this month. We feel as though we have always known him and he has always been part of our family. He was born right here in our home, in our hot tub, into Daddys waiting hands. Only Grandma and Daddy were there. It was a beautiful and private birth just as we planned. Baby Stevie has brownish red hair and dark blue eyes and is a peaceful baby when he isnt suffering from symptoms of reflux. He has had reflux since birth and while he is extremely uncomfortable at times it seems to be a mild case. We hear people say that he looks like both Randy and I. He is so very beautiful and loved!

EmmaLee is her usual precocious self. She loves to tease her brothers and sister. Barbies are a favorite playtime activity for her. Especially since they are Sarahs! :-) She loves to read and be read to. She has recently started praying at meals. She says it all by herself. It is so adorable to hear her thank God for our food! She will be three years old this year. She loves her baby brother. We think having him has calmed her down some. She is growing like a weed and has more happy days than unhappy days. We are so very thankful for her beautiful spirit and colorfulness.

Sarah is nearly EIGHT years old. (Can you all believe it? My how time flies!) She is our artist. She draws for hours every day and the rest of the time you can find her reading. She is a voracious reader. She has been recently reading the classics such as, Little Women and Jane Eyre. She is enjoying them tremendously. She just finished a season of cheerleading. She enjoyed it very much. She is very curious and interested in everything. She enjoys taking care of her Russian Tortoise, Speedy Giants. Sarah is a great big sissy and mini Mom. She helps with all of the other children. She also loves to cook and help me in the kitchen.

Austin is nine and a half years old now. He is learning to play acoustic guitar. He writes his own songs and enjoys music very much. He just finished a season of basketball. He had a blast learning to play the game. He also loves to read, especially joke books. You can often find him telling someone a joke. Austin is an inventor. He enjoys coming up with inventions and then trying to build them. He loves our animals, especially Sasha, our dog and spends a lot of time playing with her and caring for her. He is such a good big brother and we are so proud of the young man he is becoming! He too likes to help me cook and he loves to look at cookbooks and plan our menus

Well, that is the update on the children. They are getting so big, we are afraid to blink as we may miss something! We love home schooling them. It seems like such a natural thing for us. It has enabled us to pursue our own interests and still be together as much as possible. We are all learning so much! ;-)
